It’s A GIRL!

We found out today that we’re expecting another girl! We’re excited of course, but surprised. Nick, Taylor and I all thought it was a boy, as did some of our parents and other family and friends. But God knows just what our little family needs and that’s another little girl! Taylor’s reaction was sub-par despite her saying that she wants a sister. Honestly I don’t think she really understood what was going on today, and she was tired. Excuses, excuses, right.

All of her measurements and organs on the ultrasound looked great. For this we are extremely grateful! We’re also grateful to already have so many girl things for her. It’s so fun to finally be able to say “her” and “she” rather than “it” or “the baby”.

We have yet to announce her name, but as soon as we’re 100% sure, we’ll let you know. But we did go ahead and buy her two precious little outfits tonight from Babies R Us. Tomorrow we might have to make a trip to Tiny Town (a local children’s boutique), but first we’ll take out a small loan. 😉

Thanks everyone, for your excitement for us and with us, and for playing along with our guessing game!

Big day!

Today’s the big day! Only a few hours more until we find out what we’re having. We’ve been nothing but nervous energy all morning and can barely take it. We’ll put up a post later this afternoon once we’ve gotten back from the doctor, so stay tuned.

20 weeks

Well, we are 20 weeks along in the pregnancy!  This is a very exciting week because on Friday we find out what we’re having.  We are super excited and can’t wait for 1:00 on Friday to get here.  Nick’s parents will fly in town so that they can share the excitement with us.  We’d love to have a boy, but 2 girls would be a lot of fun.

That being said, what do you think we’re having?  Leave a comment and let us know what you think.

Baby Face

WHO IS THIS BABY? I was just looking back at some pictures and came across these from late September, taken one morning before Mother’s Day Out. She looks like such a baby to me!

Pump It Up

A couple of Fridays ago our church had a Family Fun Night at Pump It Up. If you’re not familiar with it, it’s a place with huge inflatables where kids can be kids…and adults can, too, for that matter. It was a lot of fun, eventhough I didn’t go on the slides or anything. But I did eat some pizza and cake! The baby made me do it. Nick and Taylor had a blast, too, though you wouldn’t have said this based on her facial expression the first few times she went down the slide. I forgot our camera, but we got these two pictures thanks to Jen!

This morning we had a wonderful little family outing as we went downtown to the Market on the Square. It’s a cute little farmer’s market in Cathedral Square and we had a great time! Nick took some good pictures, Taylor had fun playing with her baseball from the Troy vs. South Alabama baseball game last night (that’s another post for another time) and making friends with some of the vendors, and I walked away with some local honey and beautiful flowers. I could have bought much  more, so we’ll definitely go again! I hope you enjoy the pictures as much as we enjoyed ourselves this morning.

It’s hard to believe, but Taylor has completed her first year of Mother’s Day Out! It seems like just yesterday that I was typing a post saying it was her first day! It’s been a good year and she’s learned alot and has grown physically and emotionally, too. She really enjoyed it and though she hasn’t verbalized it, I know she’ll miss it and will be glad to go back in the Fall for 3-yr.old preschool! WHAT?!?! My baby is going to be 3 and she’s going to preschool?! That kinda makes me want to cry. She’s growing up so fast and I love her more and more everyday!

Ok, back to MDO. I am pleased with how they actually learned things and didn’t just play the whole time. I know play is important and they definitely did their fair share, but they were also taught things, too. They learned shapes, colors, numbers (1-6, I think – not sure why they stopped there), and the letters of the alphabet. As I’ve mentioned before in other posts, she had a Movement Education class on Tuesdays with Ms. Hope and Spanish on Thursdays with Ms. Toni. She looked forward to these classes and liked to tell me/show me what she learned on those days. I wish I had gotten a picture of her with those teachers, too. Next year, she’ll go to Music class on Wednesdays in addition to Movement and Spanish. I know she’ll love that since she’s such a little songbird already. Below the first day/last day pictures are some that I took at her end-of-the-year party on the last day. The last one cracks me up because it looks like a “prom pose” with her buddy Hudson. The one Hudson’s mom took is even better and more hilarious.

As for this summer, I plan to review with her all that she learned this year and really work on letter and number recognition. She knows her colors and shapes so that will just be a quick review. Hopefully this will give her a good jumpstart for 3 yr. old preschool next year!
